Self-Love

I have entered into a really fun challenge with some very creative, beautiful and inspirational web women. It's funny how you can really learn so much about people without ever meeting them...don't you think? Having these girls cheer each other on for an awesome challenge is so fun! The goal is simple:

Simple enough..... We are on Day 3 today and so far I've caught a picture of my practice each day. We shall see if this keeps up:) Notice that my 8 month old Labradoodle puppy "Buster" seems to pop up in the images. He is a little obsessed with being by my side at all times. I love this♥

I hope everyone has a very enjoyable weekend! My Mom kidnapped my two little girls and is taking them out of town for the weekend, so my husband and I are going to take advantage of our freedom......

Funny thing...we have no plans yet!!! LOL..... it's weird to have no kids for an entire weekend;)

Our Di Di

Let's just skip the fact that my last blog post was in June...yes you read that right....JUNE!

I did a little revamp on the page and I will try to be more diligent about posting:) HA!

Tonight we are having one of our favorite Ladies over and here is the story of that Famous Lady: Di Di!!

When we found out we were having our first baby we were certainly overwhelmed by the dollar signs $$$ on almost every day care center we researched. We were living in University City at the time and we did not have a whole lot of options that suited our budget and I was not keen to the idea of a large daycare facility. A close friend of ours recommended that we talk to his brother who was using his wife's Aunt Di Di to come in their home for daycare. The only catch was the location. They were located in St. Charles which was pretty far west of the city and the opposite direction for both of our commutes. We met a couple of times and things just felt right so we jumped on the opportunity to have Di Di care for Kayla even if the drive was a little ridiculous. Later to find out this Famous Lady drives even farther than we did to be with her babies. She is such a Saint:) We could not have asked for a better fit with our laid back family!

As it turned out the family she was working with moved on to another home and Di Di offered to come into our home after we moved to St. Charles. This was amazing....I mean you could not ask for a kinder, generous and caring Lady to be present in your home and care for your children. Did I mention she is a Saint? When Paige came along I felt like the luckiest Mom in the world to have Di Di there in our home during the day. She spoiled those babies like non-other! And boy did they love her in return.

This past year Paige was turning 3 and we made the decision to put her in pre-school to start preparing for Kindergarten. Kayla had started school and it was time to move on and end our in-home daycare. This was a very difficult decision for all of us. There were tears shed and major transitioning for everyone. Even my poor indoor plants were going to miss Di Di.....she had become a member of our Family. My biggest fear was not keeping in touch and the girls slowly forgetting about this wonderful person who helped shape them into the polite, well mannered kids they are today.

Well, I am happy to report that we still have a very active relationship with Di Di. We try to get together a couple times a month so the girls can spend time with her. I can't say it's not a little for me too....I loved having her there to vent my worries, share my happiness and just have a good listener around to talk to. If you know we well....I talk A LOT!!!! About EVERYTHING:) So here is to our Famous Lady Di Di and many years to come sharing our lives with her. We love you Di Di! I am so happy you are a part of our crazy life♥
